About Me!
Hey peeps! My name is Kylie, and I’m the magical clay wizard behind Kylie’s Menagerie!
I’ve always been an artsy pal for as long as I can remember. My parents could tell you about the drawings I did when I was like basically an infant, and then how my art progressed over the years. As a kid, I NEVER left the house without a pencil and paper……lots of paper. Dude, I remember going through those big packs of 500+ sheets of copy paper like CANDY.
I also painted. I was known for my animal painted rocks for several years, and that’s pretty much how Kylie’s Menagerie was started. I sold my “pet rocks” everywhere I had the chance, and so many people told me how much they loved them! My mom came up with the idea that I should name my little business “Kylie’s Menagerie”, because the word menagerie means “a collection of wild or unusual animals, especially for exhibition”, which perfectly sums up my art, and the name stuck!
Now at first it started with my realistic animal rocks and pet portraits, but then one day I decided to try something new. I bought a couple blocks of polymer clay and fell in love with sculpting. At first my figurines looked similar in appearance to my realistic painting style, but over time I developed the style you all know and love me for today!
Besides creating art, I enjoy making and most importantly eating sweet things, listening to tunes nonstop, aaand annoying my studio assistant, miss fluffy burnt marshmallow black bean. A.k.a, my cat Fia.
I love what I do and I’m really happy I get to share it with you all!
